How can I say I love you when I drove here in my car?
As I look at the smooth curves of your fields and hills I want to be a giant, so I can lie beside you and caress you as I marvel at your beauty.
But I drove here in my car.
Spewing out toxins in invisibly ugly coughing clouds all the way.
Fuelled by the life blood from the rocky veins deep beneath your beauty.
What a hypocrite I am.
How dare I feast my hungry eyes on your dips and curves?
On the luscious greens and golds of you?And marvel at your sky stroked surface in all its sacred glory.
When to get here, I abused you.
To get to this place.
This elevated place.
Where I stand tall.
As if above you looking down.
Without realising that it’s you holding me. Gifting me with the very air that I breathe.
Forgiven on the inhale.
Again and again.
I stand sorry, but unrepentant.
Because I drove here in my fucking car.
